Do you have a vision of where you want to go with your life or what you want to accomplish?   If the word vision troubles you think of imagination or dream.  It doesn’t matter what you call it just so you have a plan in mind!

The longer I live and I have lived  91 years to this point the more I am convinced that it is vitally important to have a vision of where I want to go with the rest of my life.  The writer of the Book of Proverbs tells us “that without a vision the people perish.”

A vision may or may not be something spectacular, but it should be something that you hold in your mind and keep it there until you see it accomplished.  When I don’t have a vision of what I want to do I fail miserably.  Nothing comes to fruition and I am disgusted with myself and with everyone else that I associate with.  It is so easy to just find fault with others and sit around and feel pity for oneself.

It was Helen Keller who said, “The most pathetic person in the world is the person who has sight, but no vision.”   You just have to have vision if you want to get anywhere or do anything.   Carl Jung made a very good observation when he said, “Your vision will become clear only when you look into your heart. Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside, awakens.”

So why is it so hard for some of us to have visions?  Or so tough to believe that our visions can come true?  Perhaps for some of us it's because we have been programmed that way.  We were told  "don't get your hopes up to high" when we were young and it has stuck with us through the years.    While this may have been  told to "protect" us, it has had the opposite effect.

So where do we start ?  How do we have a vision of what we want to be or do?   That’s pretty obvious, by changing our thought patterns, of course.   If you know exactly what you want, you can
have it… All you have to do is look around you.  The world is filled with abundance.   A vision is nothing more than a thought or a series of thoughts.

Your circumstances may be awfully disruptive, but they  certainly will not remain that way if you will just perceive of an Ideal (a vision if you will) and then strive to reach it.  You simply cannot travel within and stand still without.

And that, my dear friends is worth thinking about.
